Outstanding Staff Award Nomination 2021
OCTSA Outstanding Staff Award: The Office, Clerical, and Technical Staff Assembly (OCTSA) will select two staff members to receive the Outstanding Staff Awards. Winners will receive an award package and be recognized at the annual OCTSA awards reception.
Purpose: The OCTSA has created this annual award to recognize two outstanding employees from among the office, clerical, and technical staff of The University of Alabama whose exceptional ability, performance, and attitude have advanced the mission of The University of Alabama.
Decision: The OCTSA Professional Development Committee will review and administer the policies and procedures related to the award and will choose the recipients at the end of the nomination process. The committee reserves the right to withhold the award in any given year.
Nominations: Nominations will be accepted from the administration, faculty, and staff of The University of Alabama. Nominations must be submitted via the nomination form. Anonymous nominations will not be considered. The deadline for nominations is April 1st, 2021.
Eligibility: All permanent full-time office, clerical, and technical staff members (non-exempt hourly) of The University of Alabama with at least 5 consecutive years of service at the University are eligible for the award, except those currently serving on the OCTSA Professional Development Committee.
Award Presentation: The awards will be presented Tuesday, May 18th, 2021 at the OCTSA Awards Reception (time and location to be announced at a later date).
Award Criteria: The nominee must be office, clerical, or technical staff (non-exempt hourly). Faculty and professional staff are not eligible for this award. The nominee must have at least 5 years of consecutive service at The University of Alabama. The nominee should be someone who exhibits outstanding performance in job duties, an exceptional spirit of service, and a strong desire to further the mission of The University of Alabama.

- Provide clear, substantive reasons why the nominee should be considered for this award.
- Be specific in describing how and why the nominee has demonstrated excellence above and beyond their normal job responsibilities.
- Remember that the deadline for nominations is April 1st, 2021.
